Introduction
Greetings my little Alakazam,
my name is Leila Bonhomme, and this is my first year taking any type
of media class, I am quite excited to learn more about this
subject. I never knew there was so much to the word media up until
when I 1st stepped into my Aice Media Studies classroom. Media studies are
important because they teach us about how media is being used to communicate
with everyone around the world. We get to see its influence on the society
around us, in the form of culture, politics, and education. One of my
favorite media products is K-drama, Anime and TV shows, I consume this media product
because it helps me stay entertained and educated on some cultures, and it also helps me deal with lots of stress. Since most of the
episodes are long, by watching one episode, my body tends to forget about
all the stress and worries. One of the reasons why someone around my age might
engage in this media product might be for the same reason mentioned above, it
helps us stay entertained and stress-free as our brain releases dopamine into
the rest of the body. Also, three things I find interesting about media studies
are one the media global influence how media have the power to shape someone's
opinion, and two the diverse audience perspective one message could be
viewed from multiple perspectives. Last is the evolution of media
itself.
The media
product I will be documenting in my blog post is the opening of a film. The
film genre would revolve around drama and student life. A
film where a student would have to go through hardship and motivation and
emotional growth to realize the special light that is hidden within
her/himself. My target audience for these opening films would be teenagers and
students, because we all have faced this moment where we felt small, we felt
like hiding in somebody else shadow especially in a new environment. The
message would revolve around everyone having their light or talent hidden
inside you, and you're the only one who can release that light. To create my
films, I'll need a lot of my teacher's advice and tips because I don't know
much about creating a film opening but I'm ready to learn. My film
should be released at least sometime after winter break.
The four
skills I'll need to create my opening films and blog are proper grammar,
Organization skills, time management skills, and communication. These
skills will help me gain a high score on my component 1 blog and
opening films, because everything revolves around
grammar if a message is being communicated, I would need to use
the right grammar to make everything clear to my audience. Along with
organization skills, the more organized my work is, the more understandable it
will be for the person who will be grading my component 1. The
last 2 skills are time management and communication skill with
those skills I will be able to submit all my work on time for a
proper grade, and if anything goes wrong or I'm in any sort of trouble I'll
need the communication skills to seek help from my teacher and my teammate
myself to get everything resolve.
