Critical Reflection

Day 39

I'm Sad and happy to say that this is our final moment together, this is my first movie ever, I thank God first then my teacher and my teammate. I would not make it this far without their push mostly emotionally. I am proud of myself, even though lost hope but I never lost myself. Last thank you my little Alakazam for your support and time.
 Love Leila Bonhomme.

Plot twist

My journey

Day 36

Hello, my little Alakazam, you would not believe what happen. It one Major plot twist of my adventure. Well, a few days ago my teacher analyzes my film opening to give us feedback and let me tell you what she said took me by Suprise. She told me that my film opening was a movie and not a film opening as a result.... yes, you guess it. I had some editing to do after few trials of editing and nothing work, we had to change our movie. Yes, last minute creation... we had to stop drop and roll. I knew I couldn't give up just yet after taking so many other Cambridge course, I couldn't give up on my last one. With all my determination I had to put on my actor pants on and roll with it. we had some mental plan but nothing out with 45 minute we knew it was now or never which I can't ever accept.

With the knowledge I gain from the previous assignment and first draft I knew my camera movement and angle, I knew a little of everything to manage. We came from horror slasher genre to high school drama.

Our story

During this journey, we met other supporting actor who were willing to help creating this film opening. First our wonderful teacher Ms. Vincent, she was there, and she understood she made sure that we learn everything we could, she helps me when i saw no path she founded one for me and my team i'm thankful to her. Shout out to one of my loyal trustable and reliable friend Jayda Outten. I knew her ever since freshman year and we are still standing strong even in our last year she was a blessing she was one of my supporters during this new production and my actual supporting character I also express my thanks to her. Next is Danielle Stephen touch my heart even though she just came back from her small break with all the overwhelming work she now had to catch up on she plays our role of camera director. Without a camera director there is no movie to showcase. Last is John our competitor, he accepted to help us with the editing of the movie while criticizing but we use those to our advantage

With the help of the feedback, we receive we knew where to improve. this is how our final movie the last assignment came to existence.

post-production: Sound Editing

Sound Editing

Day 34

Introduction

Welcome back to another adventure of editing my little Alakazam. This time instead of visual editing we will talk about sound editing. That sound like music to my ears. Sound editing is the process of selecting, combining and improving the quality of a sound in a video. There are multiple type of sound editing but the one we will be focus on for today is Dialogue editing, Sound effect, Music editing and Automate dialogue replacement (ADR). After analyzing our opening film, we realize the audio definitely needed some work and some way we improve was using those method mentioned above. In our film opening we use dialogue and ADR to make sure the voice was clear and loud for the audience, in addition to that we add some music and sound effect this help engage the audience more into our film opening. For instance, the genre for our movie genre is horror slasher some sound effect use was "hit", and we use horror song with an eerie music box melody this help add suspense thrilled experience. We use this sound in order to get a positive reading from the audience

Reflection
similar to our visual editing we also use CapCut for the sound editing, the device we use for this was our cellphone. We were able to make lot of improvement using this app together it made our broken piece video look like an opening of a movie. I still believe there is room to improve on our movie but it still the best thing we ever made this is soon to be our draft we will continues to look at ways to improve our film opening.

Post-production: Visual editing

VISUAL EDITING

Day 33

Introduction

Welcome back my little Alakazam to another adventure! this time it's all about visual editing. Visual editing allows an editor to manipulate and connect scene together to create a fine art masterpiece. In our film opening we use some visual editing such as cutting and trimming, this helps us remove any unwanted scene, this also improve the pacing of the video. In addition to that we also use transition like fade in, fades out, blur this helps enhance the original effect of the video alongside with a smooth transition where it keeps the audience engage in the movie. At last use vignette, like a dark circle around this help set the mood transition from okay to danger and warning which support our genre of horror.

Reflection
For our film editing, we use the app CapCut . This app was free to use with some subscription, but we were able to make the most out of it. We able to transition smoothly between scenes add special effects. Without the help of Capcut the film was not nearly as engaging as it now. The only downside the editing app we used had was the limitation, like I mention before some of the editing technique needed would require subscription.

production bloopers

 Bloopers

Day 32

Introduction

Ah this was definitely the adventure of the day. It a little sad that my little Alakazam missed the live moment but don't worry I got some video to help with that. These were the start of our new actors. Sometime i find acting and dancing so similar, you know how they say everybody knows how to dance until they stand up. YUP. That was it right there, our actor for the movies had their line right and all it would take to perform, it was not as easy as memorizing the lines. As a result, we experience lots of blooper or you could say embarring error where they focus too much on the acting where they forget their lines or focus to much script and end up laughing or stuttering during the acting. Even so, after lot of trial an error our brave actor effort was not put to waste.

Production Day TWO of filming

Production day 2

Day 31

Introduction

Now it time to get into the real action, today is our second day of recording our scene and this time we are back with more than just one scene. We can all say we push past our limit our actor are new to acting but we know we have to give it our best this is why I’m proud of my actors. After so many bloopers we have manage to get through all the storyboard shot. For the second day instead of filming only outside some location we film at was inside the main area the classroom this time we went to different location to make it look more realistic. During this filming we were able to cover our genre and theme slasher bullying. These videos are trusted to be in our movie later on after editing they are full with potential wouldn’t you say so my little Alakazam.

Reflection

During our second filming day we had much struggle than we did the first time but we all had the same goal. Some of us made sacrifices to be there for the recording without my friend help I don’t know if this movie would even have got to the point it did. We use our mobile device to record the scene use mask to support the genre. This production day taught me exactly how teamwork makes dream work. We receive feedback and help from old students with their help I can say second day of production was aaaaa SUCCESS.

production day ONE of filming

Production day one of filming

Day 30

Introduction
Instead of production day one of filming i think we should call it day one of Success wouldn't you agree my little Alakazam? we'll get right into details, today when we went out to film our first scene for our film, we definitely had it in mind, but would it actually play out it was the real question. For our first day of filming, we wanted everything to be lightweight we didn't want to start with the acting just yet. Instead, we record our setting which we believe is one of the most important elements of mise-en-scene. Without the location this can lead to confusion because the location reveals lots of information about the character and expectation. We also learn the importance of a storyboard, because of our storyboard we were able to put our vison into action. We use establishing shot and tilt up slow dolly in. This help create a very cinematic scene introducing the location to the audience. This also tell the audience this film has to do with high school student teenagers.

Reflection
thanks to our production schedule were able to call put today to be very successful. we capture our establishing shot of the school using phone. Everyone was satisfied with the first recording one step was done multiple left but together I believe we can do it as a team.
